Single App Hosting

I have always managed my own CF servers, but over the past couple of years we have moved from CF to WP (not my choice) and we now only have our project management app that I created running on the servers. We would like to move off these servers as there is a not going on (network/hardware) wise that does not justify the expense or time.

It's a very simple app running on CF9, and I am looking for a company that hosts CF apps, very similar to what a managed WordPress hosting company would provide. I don't need access to the server or configuration, just the ability to host the site and database and have FTP access to the root dir for updates and changes.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I use hostek, best cf host in my book. https://cp.hostek.com/aff.php?aff=1611

What you're looking for might be called shared or managed hosting (some may quibble on specifics, but let's not get bogged down in that detail). There are indeed many CF hosting companies, serving a range of needs.

And I keep a list of them as a category of my cf411.com site, specifically:

https://www.cf411.com/cfhosts

(Heck, some even support old cf versions--like 9--that Adobe no longer supports. I'd argue it's not wise to run on such, as there are security vulnerabilites Adobe won't therefore have addressed.)

Indeed, a benefit of running on such a shared or managed host is that they provide the cf license, making cost not a matter in upgrading.

Finally, as for migrating your app, there are no great resources on that, but even a move from 9 to 2018 can be surprisingly simple, or perhaps only a couple of issues.

I agree with @BeRadB.  I had a site on hostek for a while.  Inexpensive, esp the shared plan, and great tech support.  I think I paid _maybe_ US$8 per month.

I'll add that my cf411 list (like all the lists on the page) makes no recommendations, but since folks are chiming in with specifics, I can confirm having had good, recent, direct experience with Hostek also, as well as Databank (formerly Edge Web), VivioTech, and Ayera.
