Uninstalling ColdFusion 2018

The uninstall for ColdFusion 2018 never completes. Tried from uninstall folder as well as from control panel .

Only the CF 2018 Add on services could be uninstalled via Control Panel.

The server is a clone.

CF 2018 shut down. No references to CF2018 in IIS remaining.

ColdFusion 2023 installed and running.

Yes, was running as Admin. It appears that the previous CF launcher was still lingering in the system.

Made sure all windows updates were applied, just in case, and rebooted.

This time around the uninstall using CF uninstall worked.

Thanks Charlie

We'll assume you're using "run as admin" on the uninstaller option when using the "folder" approach, right?

If so, and then nstead of fighting with ghosts, you could just try to delete (or move) the cf folder. If either works, it confirms nothing running is looking to that folder.

And as it seems you're on Windows, there's the windows SC command that could delete the services (from an admin command prompt).

There may be a few remaining registry entries, but none that should conflict with other cf versions, in my recollection.

Would all that suffice?
