Server coldfusion ready (startup time: 63 seconds)

I am unable to serve any cfm files nor get into Admin.

I have reinstalled twice but I get the same result.

What is wrong and how can it be fixed...

Is this an installation that worked at one time, and is suddenly throwing an error, or is this a first time installation?

Thank you for responding.

This is a first time installation.

I have installed CF8 on 2 separate winxp-sp3 dell computers, multiple times, and I still get the same error.

However, when I install CF8 on a dell with vista home premium the error does not occur.

The difference might be the firewall. What happens when you test by disabling the firewall in XP?

I reinstalled with firewall off and ran the administrator page also without firewall. Same result without firewall.

I can't believe I am the only one getting this error.

During installation, what web server did you configure Coldfusion to use? I usually choose the built-in JRun webserver. If I need a different web server afterwards, I run the Web Server Configuration Tool.

I have another suggestion. Rule out the effect of the XP socks issue on wsconfig.

I configured CF to use the built-in webserver. However, I also tried Apache and I got the same result.

The installations don't seem to have a webserver config issue so I have ruled out the XP socks effect.

Does the situation change when you install the Coldfusion 8.0.1 Updater? It fixes lots of issues and is 64-Bit, too.

That looks odd. I expected the license.properties file to be in C:\Coldfusion8\lib\ instead.

Unfortunately, the situation did not change after I installed the Coldfusion 8.0.1 Updater.

Is there any other info, log, I can provide to better diagnose this problem ?
