check if mysql table exists

Hello all!

Is there a way to see weither a table exists or not in mysql with a simple cfif clause?
Something like
<cfif tablename exists>...<cfelse>...</cfif>

No. You have to query the database first.

You can use INFORMATION_SCHEMA.tables to get information about tables. If you're using CF8 see also the CFDBINFO tag.
