Does ColdFusion 2016 Support Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2?

I noticed the Support Matrix for ColdFusion 11 lists Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012 and 2014.

However, the Support Matrix for ColdFusion 2016 only lists Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and 2014.

Does anyone know if support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 was really dropped in ColdFusion 2016, or if it simply was not tested by Adobe?

I'd like to set up a new web server with ColdFusion 2016 installed that communicates with an existing DB server running Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.

Thank you.

Its not technically supported with CF2016 although it will most likely work without fault.

Its a bit like CF10/11 stopped supporting 2000/2005 but people still continued to use it.

As always, I would set it up and test it before putting it into production.
