We are getting intermittent blank screen on an iis 7.5 website with ColdFusion 10.There was no error on IIS and Cold fusion. Whenever this issue happens , we need to restart/recycle application pool or restart cold fusion services Any ideas on what could be causing the blank white screen. Is this issue with IIS or ColdFusion ? Is it because of heavy load on the site? How can we troubleshoot it and find out the root cause of the issue

OS==>Windows 2008 R2 Service Pack 1  - 64   bit

IIS==>7.5 Cold Fusion ==> 10 and Update level 13

NOTE : The article is for CF 11 however same is applicable for CF 10.

  • Take a thread dump which will capture the hung thread information

  • Create a new website in IIS, perform some stress testing on this website via  Apache JMeter

All of the above steps are recommended during maintenance window if you are facing this issue in a live/production server.
