Home printing - RGB or CMYK

New Here ,

I am designing a file in Illustrator that will be printed on an inkjet printer - should I be designing and saving this file in RGB or CMYK mode given that it will primarily be printed on a home printer?

If you are going to use the native print driver from Epson, Canon etc, you want to feed it RGB.

Thanks for your reply.  So, if I would like to convert my 40 page document from the CMYK mode to RGB mode using Adobe Acrobat Pro X, what is the appropriate conversion profile to change my file to?  Colormatch RGB?  Apple RGB?

Thanks in advance

So you only have CMYK? Too bad. At this point, ColorMatch RGB might be your best option due to the gamma encoding. Then there will be yet another conversion from ColorMatch to the actual RGB output color space for the ink jet. You’ll need a profile for that of course.

AND due to what Andrew is saying, in the future you'll want to build your projects in an RGB colorspace from the start.
