I'd like to place a pod at the bottom of my room– underneath the screen share pod– that contains a link that, when clicked by a paticipant, opens a private chat window with a designated host. This would be ideal for tech support since most of my participants don't know how to use the private chat feature. Is such a thing possible? If not, can anyone suggest another method of flagging a tech support host for those unfamiliar with the Connect environment?!
Thanks

Hi,
We have a couple of ways of initiating Private chat. One is to go in Chat Pod's dropdown menu and select the host from the list of 'Start Private Chat with' option.
Another easier way that I personally prefer is to hover over the name of the participant in the attendee pod and click on start private chat option from the hover menu.
Currently, We dont have a way to serve the request that you have placed, but i hope above 2 ways should help you in initiating a private chat session.
Hope this helps!

I'm aware of your two stated methods but the problem with them is that
the participant needs to know over which person's name they need to hover.
It also presumes that the participants know of this features, and many of
those who attend my sessions do not. I'd like for them to be able to
attend Connect sessions without having to endure a 20 minute how-to
seminar. Perhaps this functionality could be considered for future
versions.

We will surely consider this request for our future releases. You can also place a feature request @ https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform.

You may want to look at the custom chat tools that are available on the exchange:
Chat with question view: http://www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect/feature-details/chat-pod-with-question-view.html
Enhanced Chat: http://www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect/feature-details/tabbedchat.html
and see if they can meet your needs. If they do, great! If they are close, you may be able to reach out to the developer of those tools and see if they would be willing to make a custom version for your needs.
I believe that the Chat with Question view was built by someone at Adobe, so that may or may not be easy to get in touch with that person, while the Enhanced chat was developed by a 3rd party.
