Hi There!

Just wanted to know if the Adobe Connect Browser version still works after the removal of Flash. The App version works fine.

Regards,

Ashwath

The Standard Mode or HTML client will continue to work in the browser. Classic Mode or Flash will work for a time for some users, but I'd expect that Jan 12 will be the official end of Classic Mode in the browser.

When I try to join a meeting via browser (I tried Chrome and Opera), I get a message:

"Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 11.2 or above.
Adobe Connect requires the Flash Player plugin, version 11.2 or above. Please download and install the Flash Player to continue."

How do I tell the browser to switch to non-flash version of Adobe Connect in browser? Or does that depend on the server where the meeting is hosted?

Thank you!

Hi

Then how we can login to admin console and create meetings, attendees etc. We are using Adobe Connect 9.6 and  all browsers redirects us to Adobe Flash Player EOL page.

It is very confusing when the official and recently updated Adobe Connect help pages state that it is possibe to "attend, host, or present in meetings in the browser", but none of the browsers I tried work and still mention the need of Flash.

OK, two big things at play here.

First, @L5CFD , You may need to set the meeting to launch in Standard mode in the browser. This is what Adobe has named the HTML version of Connect. You can set this in the Edit page for the meeting room in Connect Central. You can also add ?html-view=true to the meeting URL to force the Standard view in the browser. It should look like youraccount.adobeconnect.com/room/?html-view=true

@Polis5FB9 Connect 9.6 was released in April of 2017. That's nearly 4 years ago. Almost all of Connect was Flash based then, including the login page. Having a software application work for 4 years with no updates or patches is... pretty amazing. With the release of Connect 9.8 (April 2018) Adobe started shifting the Flash components of Connect Central to HTML. This continued through Connect 10 and was finalized in Connect 11. It's been a long path over the last 2-3 years. I believe that rather than complaining that a very old version of Connect has succumb to the death of Flash, it may be time to consider upgrading/updating the servers for that deployment.
