I'm trying to download, install, and use Adobe Connect Countdown Timer from the site: http://www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect/apps/countdown-timer.html. How to download, install, and use for virtual meetings?

The link is incorrect. It downloads a clock, not a countdown timer. Can someone check the link?

It claims that you can change the text and style (color) of the timer, how is this accomplished? Instructions with these apps are shamefully non existant.

Link works for me.
It says you can change the text and set the timer via slider or text entry box. These are all possible. It says nothing about changing the color.
There is a button to set the time to the desired count down and you can double click on the text at the top to be a different message.
Being a free app, I wouldn't expect a whole lot. Not sure about shamefully non-existant.
Want more options? Build one (or have one built) specifically to meet your needs! The SDK can be found here https://www.adobe.com/devnet/adobeconnect.html, but you may need to reach out to Adobe directly for the HTML SDK.

Jorma, I appreciate your response. It appears I have offended you with the phrase "shamefully non-existent." When you do business with a reputable company like Adobe, and my company pays a lot of money to Adobe every year, there are certain expectations. At a minimum I would expect that any add-on, or feature that could be downloaded from the Adobe site, would contain at least minimal instructions. This product, free or not, contains NOTHING relative to how to customize. True, it's not fair to expect much from freeware, but no instructions? As I looked at the code, I noticed this app was developed by Adobe, so I"m simply suggesting that I expect better from Adobe, becuase they've delivered better. With the Creative Cloud apps for instance there are plenty of video tutorials and how-to's. There was another freeware item for download here that was an Mp3 player. The notes in the code gave clear instructions on how to modify and add songs.
So having NO instruction to me is shameful. You, taking the time to screen shot and share your knowledge is immensely helpful, an I easily made the changes I wanted, so I thank you very much.
As for the color, I guess I infered that background color could be changed from gray because I see others on a simple Google search that have a green background. Perhaps that requires changing the code in the SWF or Html5, something without instruction, I'm not eager to mess with.
You solved my problem of changing the text. So easy, double click and change. Thanks.

You didn't hurt my feelings, no worries there. If that is what it took to upset me, I'd be unhappy most of the time 😉
The green version of the countdown time is the older version that was put out to pasture when this one was created. In the HTML version you may be able to easily change the background color by adjusting that file, but SWF files are compiled and non-editable. But, play with it and see what you can sort out. Worst case scenario you break it beyond help and just have to re-download it.
Yes, the MP3 pod had better instructions, and was developed by the same person at Adobe (I believe). But the thing to keep in mind about these is that they were developed by that person as a side or pet project, not as an offcial Adobe Connect feature enhancement. Really they are simple tools created to show what kinds of things are possible. So, I suppose my thoughts are based on knowing where these came from.
Glad I could provide some clear guidane on how to use this tool.

I downloaded the file from the provided link and I have no "SWF" file in the zip file?

That is correct, this pod is now HTML only. The Classic mode of Connect is soon to be end-of-life'd so I expect that there is no longer a need to have a Flash version of the app.

Hi guys!
I followed the instruction and it worked! But it kept on showing me the error message that HTML users are not able to see the timer. How can I fix it?

I'm having the same issue in regards to Flash vs html5. Any help is appreciated.
