I have Adobe Presenter 7 and it comes with Adobe Connect. I am given the choice between Adobe Connect V8.1.2 or higher OR V8.1.1 or lower. If we have a mix of Adobe Connect products, it would be hard to deploy over the network. I know you can download a seperate version of Adobe Presenter 7 that does not come with Adobe Connect. However, this is the version I have been given.
How old is Adobe Connect v8.1.1 and lower? Which of the other Adobe products also come loaded with Connect? Thanks.

Adobe Presenter does not come with Adobe Connect for free. Adobe Connect is a paid for service and you have to engage a partner/channel partner to purchase an account and licenses. Adobe Connect does not ship with Presenter or any other product as they are all sold seperately. Adobe Connect 8 was releasd last year and is heading into the nect version 9 in 2012.
Not sure where you got the idea that Presenter came with Connect. Not true.

This explains why the versio of Presenter 7 I downloaded did not include Adobe Connect. This means that the place where I work must have an arrangement where Adobe Connect is included. Thanks for clarifying this. And I am going to assume any other Adobe Product such as Acrobat Reader also does not include Adobe Connect unless the arrangements you mentioned were in effect.

Well, your workplace may have Adobe Connect licnenses that they paid for irregardless of Presenter. Presenter is not free and is licensed software per user. Adobe Connect is licensed either by host or by number of concurrent users. Adobe Connect is not bundled with any other product and is sold to enterprise, Universities and government agencies. Your firm may have purchased Adobe Connect and Presenter but they have to license them according to the number of users. That is not bundling but just a contract for licensed software.

The DVD I received has 2 versions of Adobe Presenter.
One is version 7 (7.0.7) and this one gets installed if I select Adobe Connect 8.1.2 or higher.
Seems to be for IE 8 or 9. We use IE 8 at work. What is the connection between Presenter and/or Connect to browser version?
Second version is 7.0 (7.0 a) and this one gets installed if I select Adobe Connect 8.1.1 or lower.
Seems to be for IE 7, 6, 5.5. What is the connection between Presenter and/or Connect to browser version?
Someone told me that somehow Connect is connected to Office (2003, 2010). That Connect is a plug-in. Is Connect just a plug-in? That it installs a plug-in to Office. Any info?

Adobe Presenter is desktop software, meaning that it is installed locally on your computer. It is a plug in to PowerPoint and can be accessed as a new menu option there. This is the software that is tied to MS Office. If you have Office 2010, you need to install 7.0.7. Also, make sure you don't have the 64 bit version of PPT 10, if you have Office 10.
Adobe Connect is server based software that is used to deliver synchronous (live meetings) content and asynchronous (on-demand) content. Adobe Presenter presentations can be uploaded to an Adobe Connect server and delivered via the web.
The version of Presenter that you will want to install relates to two things:
