I need help...
I will be using adobe connect pro for an all day training next week. I am being asked to provide multiple angles of the presenter using three different Sony HDV cameras.
My questions are:
Is there a way to connect multiple cameras to one laptop for adobe connect pro? Can I switch from one camera to another to show a different angle?
How do I get good audio? Do I connect a microphone from the trainer to the laptop?
Is there a diagram somewhere that would show me how to connect all this?
What type of equipment/cables would I need to pull this off?
I hope someone out there can help me with this, my job depends on it.
Thanks.
Cesar

I think it will be possible, but I have never done it. I tried to answer some of you questions below.

The first thing you will need to do is make sure your laptop will recognize the camera as a webcam. There are video capture cards that work great for this. We used one from Pinnacle in the past. Then, you will need a video switcher so you can switch between the different angles. When you select your camera, you will need to select the video capture card as the camera.
How do I get good audio? Do I connect a microphone from the trainer to the laptop?
The best way to get good audio is to use a mic that is separate from the cameras. Just plug it into the laptop. Use the audio setup wizard to select the mic and set up the audio. Do not use the Enhanced Audio Options.

Sorry, I don’t have this.
What type of equipment/cables would I need to pull this off?
You will need a video capture card, a video switcher, mic (USB probably), cables for the camera to card and video switcher – depends on the card.
Good luck! If you have other questions, I will try and see if I can get more info.
By the way, make sure you do a LOT of testing. Getting good video out of Connect is not easy.
