Hi Everyone!

I am new using Adobe Connect and I would like to know how I can have different backgrounds as a presenter on our virtual classes.
I have my green screen already set up, but which are the technical steps I need to follow on Adobe Connect?

I will appreciated a lot any help!

Thank you!

Andrea

If the filling in of the background is done before the video is pushed through Connect, there is no requirement in Connect.

Connect itself doesn't do green screen functionality.

I have used SparkoCam software for green screen with Connect and it works pretty good.

It's very easy to use and offers complete remote control of a DSLR (with the camera in manual mode) or webcam.

If you download Sparkocam, you can use a trial version.  It creates two video camera entries in Windows which you can connect with using the normal camera drop-down list in whatever application, Connect included.

One of the cameras outputs from Sparkocam pretends to be a webcam-to fool difficult client software- and the other is a direct connection to Sparkocam as if it was a specialised camera.  The latter gives a better quality image.  Plus you can put all sorts of useful and fun effects into the picture.  I sometimes sit with a realistic computer-generated beagle resting on my shoulder staring at my students forlornly if they aren't paying attention to me.

It allows you to do picture-in-picture from multiple cameras very intuitively and you can easily crop and resize each of the cameras simply by flicking around its GUI with the mouse.   It is much easier to use and less fiddly than OBS which can't directly connect to a DSLR.

I use three monitors with Connect and Sparkocam: one to monitor Sparkocam and the Connect settings and to monitor the transmitted output, one as my desktop that is fully transmitted to the clients and the third is kept open for my general email and other work while I'm waiting for my students to finish exercises.  I would suggest at least two monitors.

I've used Sparkocam for over 3 years and it works well.  It takes a little getting used to but is a worthwhile investment if you have decided you like it after the trial.

Kind regards

Mike
