List of Cameras and Video Mixers that are compatable

Does anyone know of a site tha has a complete list of cameras and video mixers that are compatable with Connect?

I am always getting asked about HD cameras and what webcams exist and what camcorders that can play into connect.  I have done a lot of googling without luck and I am thinking about starting my own google doc to track what is and is not tested that works with connect.

In the last month:

I have been asked to use a Cannon GL2 camera (firewire into older mac) - it worked great

Sony Vivxa HD camera (HDMI and USB) - could not get any connection into Adobe Connect

iPad/iPhone display out (HDMI and VGA) - might work with the Roland VR3 - still testing

Wireless webcam - there are a lot of wireless cameras but none that I have found can be seen by adobe connect as a webcam.

Am I the only one that is struggling with this?

Thanks,

Tim

No, you're not the only one. It may seem like trying to hook a rocket

engine to a horse & buggy but you can get it to work. My video signal

includes three Vaddio cameras routed through a matrix switcher that feeds

into the PC via Osprey card. Likewise, my audio is 16 Shure microphones

(including three wireless) combined with an outside music source, all

mixed down through four Shure mic mixers into a single component audio

signal fed into the very same Osprey card. Our only problem is the

consistently poor internet speeds of some of our attendees that make

feeding live video problematic.

If you find the list you're looking for, please share it with the rest of

us.

We are testing this week the Roland VR3 and VR5 and a solution from BlackMagic.

They both offer video inputs but the real test will be if it is compatable with Adobe Connect.

I will keep you posted.

I have started a Google Spreadsheet to track what works and what doesn't:

It is an open document, please feel free to add what equipement you have tested and lets create a new resource.

Thanks! I'd like to purchase a Roland VR-3. It would replace 3 or 4 pieces of gear and a mess of cables. if it works with Connect, that is....

Brad,

I had Peter Solak from DL Henderson (Peter@DLHenderson.com) bring a demo unit to our offices so that we could test and make sure that it all worked, and worked with Connect.  For us, it worked great and Peter is very helpful.
