Publishing as a new Version

New Here ,
Aug 06, 2006 Aug 06, 2006
I have published my Breeze Presentation through PowerPoint over the top of an existing presentation. Breeze has created a new version and says that the presentation was modified when I made the upload. However when I play the presentation the old version plays not the new one. I have tried refreshing, restarting the computer and deleting temporary internet files but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ben:

This is a real puzzler! Does the file include a quiz? Had you accessed
it previously? I asked around here and no one could think of any
explanation for what you're experiencing here unless the file has been
published to multiple locations. I'd recommend blowing out the
existing copy on the server and republishing again and accessing as a
new user just to eliminate variables. If you're still experiencing
this issue, please log a support case here:

Hope this helps!

Did you relink it back to the Training wrapper?

That is, if you are clicking the URL to the Training Course, you need to go to the course under Training (and not Content) and re-select the content - under Select Content.

Let us know.

The link goes directly to the content item as opposed to the course.

Wow, my index to this thread says it has 39 replies. But I only see 3.

Ben, the whole versioning thing is odd - the fact that previous versions are STILL on the server taking up disk space, but you can't view or delete them is quite frustrating. I've only be able to access old versions by going to the course in which they are used and only if I've already completed the course. Are you certain that you published to the same location?

Yeah for some reason Jeff's post appeared 30 something times, he must have deleted the surplus.

So Breeze will play the old version of a course/content item if you have already completed that course or content item? Does that mean that a new user will get the new version but me testing it again wont?

After addressing this with Adobe tech support we determined it was because my proxy server was caching the site.

Any chance your contnet is being palyed trhough a proxy server? I have seen several occasions in the corporate world where the corporate proxy servers are caching the swif content, and no matter what you do - short of publishing to a new or custom url - will sove the problem. You might also try deleting your computer temp cache. From my experience this is most likely this is not a Breeze issue but a caching issue.
