Schedule recurring seminars?

Is there a way to schedule recurring seminars?

Ex. If you are running the same seminar room every day of the week - Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 - it would be great to have this option instead of duplicate - and duplicate - and duplicate 🙂

Thanks,

John K.

I do this for many of my meetings. Once you create a meeting or training room within your Connect server, you should always be able to go back into the meeting room. Even better, it will save everything you had in there at the last meeting and will even create separate recordings for each meeting if you are recording. This way, you can use the same meeting link every week. In conclusion, just because you set a time and date when creating a course, does not mean you are limited to that specific time and date to enter the meeting room.

@Olivia. Yes - i do this with meeting rooms as well. However this is a seminar room (Seminar room is a license with 200+ seats). Meeting rooms and seminar rooms are not the same. Seminar rooms have to be scheduled in Connect central. If not scheduled - only 10 participants can join the room.

John,

No, I don't believe there is a simple way to do this with the Events module. If you were just going to have a meeting, then you could use Outlook or something similar to schedule a meeting in the room and put a recurrence on it.

The best solution that I could think of is to set the event to be open for a period of time equal to the duration of full run of the seminars, and then just make a note on the event information and email notifications that this event will take place every day at the specified time. The ical attachment wouldn't be accurate, but you could set up reminder emails to go out I suppose... It would take a bit of effort in the email tool, but I suspect it could be done.

@Jorma. Using Outlook is not an option with seminar rooms. However I tried your other suggestion - trying to schedule one seminar for 5 days (Monday at 08:00 am to Friday at 17:00 pm). Not possible - maximum duration is 12 hours, but thank you for your input.

Yeah, it was a long shot. Sorry, my brain must have chosen to ignore that you said seminar... The new scheduling function does throw a wrench in the works.

The recurring idea does deserve being put in as a feature request. You can do so here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
