Trouble installing Adobe Connect Add-in on Chrome

I have extracted and installed the latest version of the Adobe Connect Add-in (9.966) from the Adobe website. I have enabled Flash and unsandboxed plugins in Chrome.

 

  1. When I run an in-browser test, it tells me that my Add-in is out of date or not installed. I can click Install on the test site and it will give me a green checkmark and tell me the add-in has been successfully installed. However if I refresh the page, it will tell me my Add-in is still out of date.

 

How can I install the latest version of the Connect Add-in and have it stick?
