Hello,
Has anyone had any good fortune using a USB video switcher with an Adobe Connect 8 meeting? I'm thinking of the Roland VR-5 switcher which is reviewed at http://youtu.be/JMuCUkjrqIQ.
I am assuming the Adobe Connect 8 meeting would have to be able to "see" this device's audio and video driver.

You should be able to use DVdriver with that device. This allows the computer to see the input as a 'webcam'. http://www.trackercam.com/TCamWeb/dvdriver.htm

Hi Jorma,
How is the luck on using the Dvdriver?
I try it and video pod images is so low and frame rate is really bad.
I'm using panasonic CCD CAM with firewire on my PC and that setup is look better then using DVdriver.
The issue is using Panasonic CCD cam with firewire, the live video img show up with the interlacing the image and when the object move you will see the wave of line in the moments.
Also, i tried canopus ADVC-55 convert streming video to the ACP video pod and still see those interlacing line and wave when the presenter move.
Any advice.
Thanks,
Sam

When I've played with the DVdriver application, I have had a good experience with it. But, to be honest, I've not had much occasion to use it as our video hardware doesn't require it.
When not using web-cams, we have stuck with using Cannon hardware because it has historically had a FireWire out put, which was always recognized by our computer, and ultimately Connect, as a web-cam input. We've not had a reason to purchase a new Cannon camera recently, and I know many manufacturers are moving to an HDMI out, and you would need to have the ability to use that as an input.
If you can set your camera to be capturing in SD, instead of HD, as Connect doesn't support HD video feeds for bandwidth reasons. That may help.

I appreciate the information about DVdriver, but it only partly answers my question. Plus, I have to buy this driver, or my employer would, and I don't think that would happen. Plus, it's yet another 3rd party solution.
What I want to know is: Has anyone plugged a Roland VR-5 into their Adobe Connect-compliant computer, and had success with it as a video source in an Adobe Connect meeting?
The same question could be asked of any USB-based video switching solution similar to the Roland VR-5. I just want to know: Does it work?
Or, if someone has this device, could they try it out in an Adobe Connect meeting? I have even set up a meeting link: https://usfconnect8.stfrancis.edu/videotryout/, where you could log in as a guest with presenter rights.
Thanks in advance,
Glen

I'd really like to hear from someone who has tried to get Roland's video switchers working with Adobe Connect. I'm more than a bit disappointed that Adobe Connect's engineering team doesn't provide this info.
