We want to buy it, but Adobe won't sell it?

Hi!

We have created and used our 30-day trial of hosted Adobe Connect Pro. The trial period expires next week.

On this period we did a few internal trainings which were broadcasted to a couple of remote participants. More importantly, these trainings were recorded. These recordings have been organized withing Adobe Connect as a "Curriculum" along with a few other documents such as PDFs and PowerPoint presentations.

We expect to have 5 to 10 new employees per month who should log on and watch these trainings. Occasionally some of the instructors might log on and add new contents and recordings to this curriculum.

Now we would like to extend this account to a paid plan (not losing the content that was already created).

What I have seen on the Buying Guide page (http://www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect/buying-guide.html) is a little bit confusing. It looks like the hosted solution is the ideal for us and the 25 participants limit is more than enough, as long as we can record the sessions and can have more people watching them later (never more than 25 people at the same time tought).

But then it says that "Adobe Connect for individuals" supports Web meetings and Webinars (eLearning is not offered).

I think what we really need is the eLearning (recording) option.

I contacted the local reseller and they told me they would only sell for really large accounts and not the hosted plans and I should buy it online.

So, does Adobe offer an option to extend these same features I'm already using on the trial version? Is this the same as "Adobe Connect Meeting Service Plans" (altough meeting is not our primary use).

Thank you,

Sergio Oliveira

Sergio,

Your local reseller should be able to provide you with some smaller license quantities, but it may also be a preference of the local reseller to have higher limits. The "For Individuals" option that Adobe offers only has the meeting module, as you have seen, not the training module. However meeting recordings are content, so you don't face the 25 concurrent limit on that, as there is no licensing limit for content. So you could have up to 25 individuals in the live meeting room, and 100+ people watching the recording concurrently.

The eLearing portion is the Training module, which allows you to create Course and Curriculum to have user specific tracking and record keeping. Recording and distributing the recording of your meeting is not considered part of the eLearing module.

You should be able to keep your trial account and convert it over to a paid account, you can contact Adobe about that through the contact options at the bottom of the purchase page for individuals.

If you would like, feel free to contact me off-forum at jorma[at]realeyesconnect.com and I'd be happy to help get you pointed in the right direction.
