Websites www.adobe.com/home cannot be accessed in Firefox ESR 128.9.0

Explorer ,
Apr 24, 2025 Apr 24, 2025

The Adobe website https://www.adobe.com/home cannot be accessed with the current Mozilla Firefox browser in version 128.9.0 (ESR (Extended Support Release)) (Your browser is not supported.)

Version 128.7.0 ESR is still supported. However, it is from the beginning of February 2025 and a downgrade company-wide does not make sense.

We have already reported the problem to Adobe Support but should report it here again via the Wishform in the hope that it will be processed faster.

@kglad

Hello,

Firefox v128.9.0 ESR is the latest ESR version. An update is therefore not possible in the ESR path.

(https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/desktop-esr/)

Therefore Adobe is asked to adapt/correct the browser detection.

Many universities and companies use the ESR version.

The new ESR v140 branch will be released in June 2025 and v128.9.0 is the latest version and should also be supported.

Hi @Fabian23632324ximd

A few questions

- Does the issue happen in other browsers other than Firefox?
- What message do you receive when trying to access the site?

- Is it possible to test with if the same thing happens using a different internet connection?

- Is it possible some kind of firewall or security software could be blocking access?

Please let me know when you get the chance,

Thanks,
Dave

@David__B

- The problem only occurs with Firefox ESR
- “Your browser is not supported.
Please update to the latest version or try again with a different browser.”
- It is only due to the browser detection of the Adobe website (user agent):

ESR:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0 = does not work

nonESR:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:136.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/136.0 = works

Some Adobe admin has excluded the v128 and as a result the ESR versions v128.x no longer work since February 2025.

The website https://www.adobe.com/home works without problems with the v136 user agent in the Firefox ESR v128.9.0 browser.

There is news, I tried it again today with version “128.11.0esr (64-Bit)” and it works.

Nice that the Adobe Techs could finally fix the bug.

how do you know it was on adobe's end and not firefox?

Because the browser user agent tag v128, which did not work as described above, now works. So Adobe has modified the detection.

so you don't thing minor version changes could possibly account for the behavior change?
