Issue with High CPU Usage of CEP HTML Engine

Contributor ,
Sep 28, 2016 Sep 28, 2016

Hello,

I found a fix for this from Adobe.  They say to download the file DL224.zip and extract it into the proper folder, but it does not say where to download this file.  There is no link to it.  Where can I get this?

Here is the page that discusses this issue:

High CPU usage due to CEPHtmlEngine

Thank you.

There is a link in the spanish version of that page... Uso elevado de la CPU debido a CEPHtmlEngine though I do not know if it is language specific.  I would hope not.   If you look at the source code for the page you linked I think I see the link in it but it is a confuzzled bit of coding.

Hi Kcelsi1999,

Thanks for the bringing this up, we have raised this to the concerned team and the link is now fixed.

Please check this link:- High CPU usage due to CEPHtmlEngine and share the results.

Thanks Ned Murphy for sharing the workaround, much appreciated.

I've have been trying for a long time to fix this issue on my mac os 10.15.7 and finally I opened up Indesign and went to Window-Interactive-hyperlinks - and unchecked the "Auto Update URL Status" - my CEP HTML status is almost non-existent now - hope this helps - will post update if anything changes.   :))))))

I'm having the same issues with Indesign on my work macbook. I am REALLY hoping this solves the issue. I tried adobe's fix with the dll folder replacement and it didn't do anything. If this works I will update and probably send you a fruit basket.

LOL!!! Every since I turned off the update hyperlinks I've yet to see high CPU usage from the CEP HTML - fingers crossed it works for you and everyone else that tries!   :))))))))

Please let me know!

Unfortunately the issue has come back for me. Still seeing very high CPU usage from Indesign's CEPHTML process. I think it HAS to do something with the sharing features and my work laptop having a VPN.

Oh my, I sure was looking forward to that fruit basket - LOL   🙂

I'm on my work's wired network (with me being the only mac on the network) with my mac os late 2013 and so far so good, not too sure about the VPN aspect tho. I did turn off my wi-fi so it wouldn't be interferring with my wired network - good luck and please keep me posted.....
