Please stop re-enabling auto updates automatically

For the love of all creativity Adobe, stop doing this. You provide us the option to disable it. Don't change that descision for us whenever we click to update a single app. It's a decivious feature and we keep running into problems with several machines in our team not being in parity version, features and bugs wise.

I belive you are talking about a page accessible to whoever manages the accounts. We are an immensly large company and their software including Creative Cloud is managed through their 'app store'. There all the apps are managed by them. Because we are a smaller part of this company (recently acquired) with our own needs we don't run this through their software but the normal Creative Cloud app. I'm just one of the video editors in this picture.


Regardless, I think even for individuals this behaviour shouldn't be there and invalidates the user's choice in the matter. If Adobe hates people sitting on older versions they should remove the functionality. That's absurd ofcourse. But I hope they can understand that still trying to force us in at every oppurtunity is equally bad.

yes, only plan admins (and the plan owner) can access the console.  nevertheless, you do have an administrator (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/enterprise/kb/contact-administrator.html) that you might want to contact so they can also log this suggestion.

 

in addition, you might want to share this idea post (https://community.adobe.com/t5/creative-cloud-desktop-ideas/please-stop-re-enabling-auto-updates-aut...) with others so they can upvote your suggestion.

Hi @Shebbe , auto-update will not get re-enabled for an app if it was previously disabled on that machine. If you're still running into this issue, can you collect and upload a log file and share the full file name with me? https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html

Mine re-enabled itself so many times over the past years, I'm at my wits end.  And now apparently it's updating apps on its even with auto-update still off in creative cloud. See attached screenshots. 13 days ago the system just decided on its own to update all these apps, I did not initiate, nor did i approve any message popups to so.  In fact, I even have Creative Cloud app options turned off to launch at login and automatically update itself, just to keep it from going rouge. This really isn't ok. The last decade has been one issue after another with adobe not carrying over my prefernces and keyboard shortcuts on update. The only remedy is to update manually and confirm everything carried over.  Any ideas?

i've had an adobe cc all-apps subscription since cc was launched and i've never had an app auto-update.  i don't know why that happened to you.  are there other users of your computer?

Thanks for the input. No, no other users. And this has happened over many years, and a number of devices, OS’s and CC versions as well. I have lost my preferences and keyboard shortcuts more times than I care to remember. Have been on long calls with support several times, for several hours.
