Hi there,
I was curious if Adobe Portfolio has expanded to allow users to set videos as a lightbox on a landing page, or do you need to still click on an icon to go into another page to play a video that's embeded then back into the first page to see more videos?
Also, can users change the thumbnails on videos they upload via Adobe yet?
I've been hoping/waiting for years for it to allow these pretty simple but very useful features that would make it more professional for video portfolio users.

Lightbox viewer is for images only.

For best video user experience, use the Embed Module to add videos from YouTube.
It's responsive and YT streams content from dedicated streaming media servers.

Yes, I do know that lightbox is for images only. That's why I posted about having it for videos as well. Navigating in and out of pages for single video playback isn't very user-friendly.
I appreciate the suggestion of using YouTube. However I'm hoping for a bit more "polish" than that, right?

No. Embed is not for images only.
Lightbox viewer is for images only.
The Embed Module is more versatile than Lightbox. It supports multiple types of media and gives users access to full player controls. "Polish" without function = nothing.

Typo on my part.
I'm talking about LIGHTBOX for videos. As I mentioned in my original posting, I do not want an icon to go into a second page for an embedded video. Who would? It's clunky. You have to navigate back to the home page to view a second video, then a third video, and so on. That's not how image portfolios function best on the web, so why do video portfolios funtion that way.

I know of no way to create Portfolio's without pages. That's how it's built to work, as are most websites.
Feel free to submit feature requests to Portfolio Support. If it's viable & you make a strong enough case for it, they might add it to a future release.

Definately think that the site should allow direct uploads of videos instead of only allowing YouTube videos to be linked. Wix allows multiple videos to be uploaded and placed anywhere on site. I will make this case on the support link you sent.

And it DOES. You can upload video from your device. See below for details on Portfolio's Video Module.

IMO the user experience isn't as good as video sourced from dedicated streaming media servers on YouTube & Vimeo. But I'll let you decide.

Hi Nancy,
It allows videos to be uploaded but not to the splash page and you can't select a thumbnail. Users do not want to go into different pages to view one video, then back out to the home page to go into another page to view another one video, etc. It's a pretty antiquated UI for video and yet so advanced for still images, you have to admit. I'm surprised because people are using videos so much now that there isn't a built in lightbox video feature!

I don't make the software. Submit a feature request directly to Adobe Portfolio. If it's something a lot of users are clamouring for & it's feasible, they may add it to a future version.

Portfolio will never be all things for all people. At best, it's a companion site to your other sites & social channels.
I think the reason Portfolio caters more to photographers is because of it's integration with Lightroom and Adobe Stock Collections.
Most videographers have a YouTube channel they can link out to. IMO, the YouTube experience is 100% better because it's streamed from dedicated media servers.

Hi Nancy,
I do understand that you are not a software developer. It's still just seems cookoo to me to not cater to videographers, editors, directors, etc etc the list goes on. YouTube, while it plays video well, you can't personalize it for a portfolio/reel. I'll just have to hope that my suggestion is received well with develpers. Seems like it's a market waiting to be snatched up to me!

Besides YouTube, there's Instagram, Facebook and TikTok Reels.
I'm not sure what kind of personalization you're expecting.
