This has been a known problem for a while—I'm seeing posts from at least 2020 with this issue. I try to have my designers keep an eye out for our logos, and we will typically pull a fresh vector from the OG file. But how can I hand over logo files to an Express user who doesn't have the eye to notice a problem when the libraries are still distorting vector files? This is not at all acceptable. If you double click the file in the CC Library panel, does it open in Illustrator? And do you see any snapping option turned on in the View menu?

Mac OS Tahoe 26.0 (25A354) and versions below, members on my team are not on Tahoe yet.
Adobe Illustrator 29.8.2
The distortion occurs on placing from the library and opening from the library. All users on the team are experiencing the same problem. I have replaced graphics with new files and ultimately end up having the same problems. It has been occuring for at least three years. The most recent files were not created by me, but have some extra points in the vectors. Which might be a cause, but the type that wasn't edited has some distortion. I do not have "snap to" turned on. And I don't know if the original files had it turned on. Exported a distorted vector and attached. The C is the main problem but the S have been affected.

Thanks for reporting this. This isn’t a known issue, and Libraries themselves don’t modify the vectors that are provided to them. The host app (Illustrator) sends the vector data, and Libraries simply stores a representation of that element — it doesn’t alter the artwork in any way.
To help us investigate further, could you please confirm where the distortion occurs — is it visible in the Libraries panel or only when you place the asset on the Illustrator canvas?
Also, please share the following details so we can look deeper into this:
Your operating system (macOS or Windows)
The version of Illustrator you’re using (and whether it’s up to date)
A bulletproof way to reproduce the issue, if possible — i.e., steps that consistently trigger the distortion
Once we have this information, we can escalate for further investigation.
Regards,
Tarun

Are these SVG files? How do they get into the library?

I opened the attached svg file in Illustrator and saw the same issue there. Is this svg file the same one you're adding to the library? Are you saving this svg from Illustrator? If you open the saved file do you see the issue in Illustrator too? Do you get different results if you save in .ai format rather than svg?
Thanks,
Dave

It is originally a illustrator file. I added to the library. This is what I opened with a double click and I exported as a svg. I created the library entry by clicking the add elements and add the graphic. I have attached the original illustrator and the library file saved as an .ai file. *upload is not working for me right now. I think the problem is created by the extra points from the altered C in Wisconsin as it doesn't appear in library entries that do not have this additional wordmark. In this file the f, b, p, t on the first line and the R, S, S, S, C, S—with some minor problems in other letters sitting on baselines occur. I have a version that I'm creating with a cleaned up C that I'm working on testing, and have not seen any distortion happening. I will need to create a case to the owner of the mark to swap out a cleaned up version to avoid this problem if the C is causing the issues. Have you seen anything like this before?

The system is not allowing me to upload a .ai file. The above is the original as a svg.

You can attach .ai file when you rename them as .pdf is (or save them as pdf).
Be careful when saving as SVG, make sure that you check the more options and set the decimal places number to 3 or higher to avoid distortion.
