To enhance the Adobe Creative Cloud storage experience, we would like to inform you of upcoming changes to the Creative Cloud file syncing service that may impact your workflow.
Creative Cloud has previously enabled personal users to save files on their local devices in a folder called Creative Cloud Files. The contents of this folder can be synced (copied) to the user’s cloud storage via a process that runs on the local device. You can access those files locally on the device in a folder named Creative Cloud Files or through the Creative Cloud website within the Launch More menu (from the Synced files option)
Discontinuation of Synced Files: We would like to inform you that the Synced Files feature in Creative Cloud will be discontinued. Starting February 1, 2024, the Creative Cloud desktop synchronization service and the folder and file-sharing capabilities of Creative Cloud Synced Files will be phased out.
Impact on Users: If you are a personal user (free or paid) relying on Creative Cloud Synced Files for file syncing, folder sharing, or collaborative work, please be aware of the following changes:
Your Assets are Secure: Rest assured, all assets in your local Creative Cloud Files folder on your device will remain intact and under your complete control. You have the option to leave the assets in the Creative Cloud Files folder or move them to other Adobe-supported storage solutions such as Frame.io or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) assets. Additionally, third-party cloud storage solutions with sync capabilities are viable alternatives.
Adobe continues to offer and support cloud storage and syncing across Creative Cloud with Cloud Documents, Creative Cloud Libraries, Lightroom Cloud storage, and Frame.io cloud storage. None of these cloud storage solutions are impacted by this change.

Thanks so much for your help,
My plan goes like this I have paused the sync on the local repo for the cloud files now I change the local sync target folder to an empty one next to the original one which thus becomes the my sync folder so it will eliminate all of my files when I turn sync back on correct online before the shutdown date I have 46 gb of files there.
Obviously I have backup copies on external discs but I don't like spending my time worrying about my files or my back ups.
This was I can be sure that folder where they are now does not get its path altered because I have a lot of connecting content to that folder in my loca environment.
Thanks so much for your help but I hear adobe was going to change the name of the local syn folder which would break any linked files from other programs....
My goal is that the sync keeps its same path so nothing else breaks on my local environment and also that I cause the elimination of all my files not depending on Adobe for anything since they are abonding this service and I don't want to be more of a victim of any bugs or mess ups;)
Cheers to all

i think it will just be easier to rename the folder back to the original name, after the change, as suggested by adobe:
The Creative Cloud Files folder will no longer be hidden when you sign out of Creative Cloud. The folder will be renamed to Creative Cloud Files + <account type> + <profile_name> + <email> + <GUID> (for example: Creative Cloud Files Personal Account email@abc.com ####@AdobeID). You can rename the folder as you see fit.

why not?
or do what you posted. it actually doesn't seem like much effort, either.

I want to resolve the situation diffing my backups with the sync folder and taking control of the folder so now I am in limbo waiting for them finish their work. I am ready I did a back up on the same hard drive and on both of them on my external hard drive but I am in a holding pattern until they finish their changes. I plan to keep the original folder with the same path as before so all my video work on Rush and Premiere don't need to be located again. I already migrated all my Rush projects onto Premiere on the local machine and getting the videos relocated was really a boring and useless work but necessary because I don't want to lose anything when the Cloud Files go offline....

you just have to wait for a broken link to your local sync folder. then you'll know it's time to rename it back to its original name.

it's what, i believe, @John Eischen is most concerned about. apparently they have a number of local links to the cc sync folder that will break when adobe renames that folder.

Less services, same price. I really don't understand the "improvement"...

Hi there,
I would like to inform you that there will be no change to Creative Cloud pricing as a result of this change. Adobe is continuing to modernize its storage and collaboration offering with recent value added to Cloud Documents, and Cloud Libraries.
Regards,
Tarun

1.) My current workflow is with Adobe Photoshop on my laptop and iPad. I assume the cloud syncing enables the documents made on my desktop to seamlessly sync to my iPad for edits and illustration work. With the cloud syncing services discontinuing....this will no longer be possible, correct?
2.) My current work around is to use a different cloud serve at the moment. Any suggestions for workarounds?

Just the files down in the "Open sync folder" will be deleted?

yes, only the files in your sync folder will be affected, but they won't be deleted from your computers/devices. they'll be deleted from adobe's online storage.
