creative cloud - delete folder from local hardrive

Whilst attempting to install a licensed copy of Elements on a new machine, Creative Cloud was inadvertently installed (on Windows10).

After uninstall, a folder still existed on the local hard drive named "Creative Cloud". Cant be deleted.

After running the Adobe Clean Up tool, the Folder still exists, although the icon is now blank rather than branded.

Adobe "Chat" cannot tell me how to delete this folder, and referred to this forum.

It seems amazing, as a paying customer, that Adobe can install unremoveable rubbish, not know how to remove it, refuse to escalate, offer no support.... and point to a user forum as the best hope for an answer.

Any advice appreciated. TIA

Thank you for your response. FYI, CloudCleaner tool has previously been run.  Also, Adobe PSElements is now installed on the machine.

Regarding your instructions:

2) Delete following folders :

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE  Cannot be deleted  "folder or file is in use by another program" (no other program is open)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Application Manager file not present in this location.  "Adobe Application Manager" is present in OOBE file above, and cannot be deleted.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Creative Cloud Folders file No such file found

C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\ AAM UPDATER  and OOBE both { To view the hidden AppData folder, see Show hidden files, folders, filename extensions | Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7.}  Found and deleted.  Re-created when PS Elements is opened.

3- Run Adobe Cleaner tool  : http://download.macromedia.com/SupportTools/Cleaner/win/AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe

Have down loaded and run tool.  "Uninstallation of CC completed with errors."

"Creative Cloud" Folder is still present on local hard drive.

This issue is being reported all over your forums ADOBE.

  • Uses didn't intend or want to download this product, and now cant get rid of artifacts.
  • Adobe says its a "free product" and therefore no support is available except via forums.
  • Standard uninstall via WINDOWS doesn't work.
  • Downloading more ADOBE "tools" to install the first piece of unwanted software seems less than ideal.
  • Adobe Uninstall Tool does not work. (WTF do I need an ADOBE UNINSTALL tool anyway?)
  • Being given advice to delete manually delete system files is not 'user friendly'.

It has installed itself without permissions, surreptitiously and cannot be easily removed.  At this point ADOBE your Creative Cloud product is more like MALWARE and should be treated as such.

Having this unwanted rubbish installed on my machine while trying install a paid for, licensed product, being unable to delete it, having unwanted accounts opened and having my time wasted by ADOBE trying is a really craptastic customer experience.

PLEASE FIX.
