Does Adobe still have my files anywhere?

HI,

When Adobe closed Creative Cloud (but still charghed me for it!) and then opened a new Creative Cloud, I wondered if Adobe were able to restore past files from the old CC?

Over the summer, I've had a problem with a storage device and could really do with my CC account back (or am I able to get access to them somehow?).

I'll also contact Adobe Help but many thanks for any User assistance you can give.

Thanks for your reply Kglad,

I've certainly checked whether my files are anywhere.

All my files were there uptodate on CC but now I'm left with only the files that were on CC at the end of 2022, rather than any later. This is what is so strange.

Is that what you mean by "did you check?"

Very grateful to you for your time in replying.

Thank you kglad.

Yes I've checked everywhere. And all I can see ar a few random PDFs.

I had many GBs of audio/video files which were all physically opn my harddrive (which Adobe says will always be there in its explanation of what is to happen).

This is a massive problem because Adobe have deleted GBs of files which were physically on my hard drive without my permsision.

This could land them in BIG trouble, especiailly as they were charging me every month for their 1TB CC service after they say it ended, and they are not true to their word that all files would remain at C:\Users\<Username>\Creative Cloud Files and thaat "Your files will remain in your Creative Cloud Files folder on your local device and will not be removed during this process."

Adobe kept all files up to Dec 2022, but nothing since then.

Very frustrated and have had a chat with Adobe and waiting for a call back.

Thanks for your clarification.

nothing from your hard drive was removed.  your local sync folder was renamed*, but the files should all be in that renamed folder.

*

Creative Cloud Files + <account type> + <profile_name> + <email> + <GUID>. For example, Creative Cloud Files Personal Account email@abc.com ####@AdobeID. You can rename the folder as you see fit.

Creative Cloud is not a dedicated backup & recovery service.  Cloud storage is for the convenience of paid subscribers who need to share files with colleagues or access work files from other devices.

I recommend getting * Backblaze to protect your data from loss or damage. It's been a real life-saver for me on more than one occasion. And it's very reasonably priced.

Thank you Nancy,

I must admit I used the 1TB CC as I use Dropbox, OneDrive or GDrive as I need to do exactly what you say - access all my video/audio files from different locations - and it has been very good over the years.

When CC severed the cloud link over the last few months and left my files in a standalone folder, it has only included files upto 2022. So it's my 2022-present files that are missing. It's really strange.

Very grateful for your reply
