Purchasing from License Industry

Hi, in August of 2022, I made a one-time purchased from licenseindustry<link removed-kglad> which was verified by Adobe Customer Support, after being skeptical, thinking it was a scam of some sort. So, after getting the go-ahead from customer service, I authorized the purchase and actually got a "lifetime" membership until about October, where I found out that my account, alongside about 300 other people, had their accounts deactivated and all of their work lost. I lost all of my Premiere files and everything I had worked on in Photoshop. A lot of people got their money back, but my bank won't refund me because I authorized the purchase. Is there any way for me to get my money back?

contact license industry, though that's clearly a scam.  (come on. when it's too good to be true...)

i'm not sure what a lifetime membership is, but there's no such thing as a lifetime subscription which is what they advertise on their scam website.

btw, is that company in the authorized reseller list, http://adobedealreg.force.com/PartnerSearch?lang=en?

Definitely, it's a scam. And I do not know how Adobe customer service could verify the licence, as they should have refused to answer your questions, as the licence type you got is an Enterprise licence.

I would not care about a refund. Adobe has not made business with you, and Adobe has revoked their licence. If you want to do something, you can deposit a criminal claim with the police.

I don't know, however, how this business model could work. The price is illusionary cheap. It has been proven again: if something is too cheap, it is a fake and a fraud.

There are several indications, telling me that this company is not really operating legally:

  • The company operates under a Gmail address. No serious company (of a certain size) operates with a free Gmail address. (I'm a one-person operation, and my e-mail is operated under my domain).
  • You do not find an address on this site, you do not know how this company is incorporated (legal status). You find only this: shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Creative Tower 4422, Fujairah, FU, 00000, United Arab Emirates
May I add, that on Trustpilot, the company claims to be incorporated in the US.
  • In the terms of service: You agree that from time to time we may remove the service for indefinite periods of time or cancel the service at any time, without notice to you.
I doubt that this is a legal enforceable condition. But they will certainly refer to this.
  • Trustpilot's reviews are suspicious.
  • The website/domain is very new June 2022 (I didn't check this, others checked)
  • You find references on the web (July 2022) that should tell you what to expect.

I don't think there's any way to get money back from Adobe, but I would think they could at least assist in restoring your files since that seems like something they could do for customer service recovery to retain you and sign you up for a subscription, especially if you have a ticket where their support agents endorsed them as an official reseller. I think this shows how poor their customer support is, almost even seems like the agent you received confirmation from was helping scam people.

I agree, there is no chance to get money back, especially not from Adobe. As for your data, I'm not sure how this should work, as the initial customer committed fraud and the affected persons were never Adobe customers. But you can always try to conntact Adobe customer support, if there is anything that can be done for you.

BTW: The way Adobe Creative Cloud works, there should be a local copy of your data on your harddisks, if you stored data on the cloud. The only exception to this is Lightroom, as of my knowledge.
