I agree with EOS about having to confirm my identity everytime I login. How can I shut off the additional verification? I don't even have the two-step even setup on my account?

Repeated requests for log-in are not normal. Please refer to this help article for solutions.
2 Step Verification is highly recommended for security reasons but it has nothing to do with repreated log-in requests.
