Switching between my devices in CC causes serious lag...

Hi all,

 

I have had this problem ever since I started using CC, which has been for about 8 years now since I have been with my current company. I have a fully loaded and upgraded 2017 imac that has been updated and upgraded all the way, so it has some serious speed. I also have a fully maxed out Macbook Pro Mid 2012 (I know, it's older, but it still functions and I use it sparringly when on the go). The Pro is also lightning fast because it has been fully upgraded and updated, even past what Apple recommends (I know how to do this myself and have had zero issues with any other functions).

 

Let me get to the meat of why I am posting here. Anytime I switch between the two devices, there is some SERIOUS lag that happens to both of these computers. I have to wait about 15-20 minutes after I sign into one and sign out of the other before I can actually use either device. It is absolutely absurd and I don't understand why this happens every single time. I don't know if this is the files syncing or what, but I actually don't have too many files synced to my cloud account--my company uses google drive for all of our file saving and sharing, and that has worked flawlessly when syncing any design files I've saved from one device to another. Is this just something we all put up with? I've put up with it for years but I'm really getting tired of it. Why can't I simply sign out of one device and sign into another device and have it ready to go?? I'd understand if my computers didn't have the RAM to handle it, but they do, and they both even have SSDs, which makes them both even faster. So I'm just really at a loss here. Does anyone else experience this when swithcing between devices, because I tried searching the community many times and never saw anyone else post about it.

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry for your difficulties. We have some troubleshooting steps mentioned below which might help you to resolve your issue.

 

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R


if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html


if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes... and then reinstall using*


if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows are your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows are your os update your ms visual c++ if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installers often have success with the older win 10 installers.

Hi Neelam,

 

Thank you for your quick response. Unfortunatley. none of this has worked over the years. I have even reset my imac and macbook pro completely and this lag still happens every time.
