What might cause syncing to pause?

I regularly find that when accessing my account from a different computer that the files have not synced. Each time I return to my regular computer at work, I discover syncing has paused [itself] and I have to resume manually. What are the reasons this might happen? Wondering if server disconnection might be the simple answer.

Sorry for the long delay. Is this still happening? Is the account being locked or your computer being shutdown when it is getting paused?
