Creative Cloud deleted my files

I'm a student and heavily use the creative cloud across two computer and have sycned files. During this past update for 2021 I came to realize that all my files were deleted. Bad habit to back up files every 6 months but that is what and all the files I have made in the past 4 months are gone, and I have no way to recover them. (I did npt delete them and when a new update come around I always set my prefence to 'keep all preferences and files'). Has anyone else had this issue?

No I've never had this happen because I keep redundant file backups on dedicated cloud backup systems (DropBox, Google Drive, etc...).   Files saved on your local drive don't just vanish unless your computer / hard drive is seriously broken.
