Failed to start CoreSync

I am trying to install Creative Cloud on my MacBookPro (latest macOS) but I keep getting the error message "Failed to start CoreSync - Could not create ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync"

This started after installing the Application manager and continues even after I quit the application manager.

It works fine on my iMac but I can't get it to work on my MacBook.
