I don't like how Creative Cloud Applet forces me to shutdown every open application when I log out

This is painful.

Sometimes I have to logout of Creative Cloud because it is buggy, won't sync, or I'm switching Adobe Creative account accounts (yes I have two). When I do, I'm forced to shutdown every application. I have 10 files open in Photoshop, 15 files in Illustrator, 3 files in Adobe XD....etc, and I'm forced to shutdown everything. This is nuts. If I log-back-in into creative cloud, I still cannot stop this shutdown of the application. This is maddening. It is so unnecessary what Adobe did.

Am I in a violation of some sacred decree when I logout of the Adobe Creative Cloud that it behaves in this forceful-shutdown mode? I think it is time to fix this problem.

unfortunately, you're correct. signing out of the cc desktop app shuts down open adobe programs. if you want to make a suggestion to adobe to remedy that, post here: https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

i understand the problem with more than one account requiring sign out and sign in, but you shouldn't have a "buggy" sync issue with the cc app.  if the app problems are a significant part of your aggravation it may be worth trying to fix that:

first, reset the cc app:

to reset the cc desktop app, make sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, try to repair
https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails go ahead and uninstall/reinstall per the above link

if that fails, do a clean cc install following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
check for, and if available, update your os
repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired.
update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/all/desktop?action=install&source=apps&productId=creative-cloud
if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use the link at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials it's worth trying to fix that:
