Is there or will there be "Selective Sync"

is it or will it be possible to select folders to be synced locally and some to remain just in the cloud?

It is not possible today to selectively sync specific folders to synchronize or not synchronize. We've definitely heard this from many users and have this on our backlog of features to implement, though I cannot give you a date yet on when that implementation will be coming.
