scan, clean, convert

I only use photoshop to clean up black and white scanned drawings, and then I convert them to vector in Ai, thats all I do. Is there a lite version, I'm finding it too expensive for what I need right now

There is no Adobe Illustrator substitute I can think of except FREE Inkscape.  It's not great but it might do what you need.
