webloc files won't synchronize… pipe character

I have 3 weblocs files in a folder, 1 syncs with no problem, the other 2 won't.

It seems that it has to do with the pipe character |

Problem is that i have a failure notification every time CC tries to sync, which is annoying.

The pipe character is not allowed. See Error: "Unable to sync files".

Hi Ken, by that time i had understood the pipe problem, which is a good start

My main concern, now, and it's still valid, is the permanent notification. I had to rename those files to make it go away.

If for any reason I have many folders with any impossible characters, and there's a lot of them, it means i will have to edit each file manually :

those I knew (same problem on mac)

• : (colon)
• / (forward slash)
• \ (backslash)

This one I discovered thanks to that problem

• | (vertical bar or pipe)

These I had no idea, but feel like trouble to come :

• < (less than)
• > (greater than)
• " (double quote)
• ? (question mark)
• * (asterisk)

I mean, the asterisk, knowing that NO keyboard i've seen has a × multiplication sign, and we're dealing with graphic files which can have dimensions in it, I'm sometimes naming MyFile-web-600x800px.png or MyFile-web-600*800px.png and having no problem on a mac might be a problem for later.

The OS file name restrictions between Windows and Mac OS X differ.

There are several free or trial period apps for Mac OS X that handle batch file rename. You can also batch rename from the Terminal using the built-in tools.

Yep, thank you Ken will do. This time, it was easy, and only 2 files concerned.

One thing though is the permanent notification : I wish CC app would allow me to say "ok I know those files won't transfer and that's fine, stop telling me again and again"… Just for those notifications, not the further ones coming.
