Win 10 Ver 1909. This problem has been going on for the past several versions of both Win 10 and ADE but I've managed to workaround. It almost invariably either freezes/not responding on opening ADE or if I can get by that the download window freezes even though the book has successfully downloaded to the My Digital Editions folder.
Today, I initially got the not responding problem. I used task manager to end task for ADE but then it would not open and had to restart the computer. I renamed the MDE folder in documents and ADE opened successfully but when I downloaded the book the download window remained open. I closed it with task manager and the program opened normally and the book was shown in the library.
Any ideas on how to fix this so it works reliably?
