Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.11 not working with Kobo Glo

It's Dec 2022, and in the battle between a Kobo Glo HD vs ADE 4.5.11, the Kobo loses. Same problem other people have had with transferring .ascm files to ADE then to Kobo Glo HD. Both ADE and Kobo have been de-authorized and re-authorized, problem files removed, new book downloaded... but when I try to open the book on the Kobo Glo, I get "Your eReader is not authorized to open this book... Because you previously deauthorized your eReader you need to re-import the book using ADE." So unhelpful.

Old threads said to download ADE 3.0 instead, but Adobe has removed the download, at least for Mac (operating system is Sierra).

Can't afford a new Kobo right now. Does anyone know where I could find the older version of ADE for Mac if not from Adobe?

Thanks in advance!

I manged to sign in with a ADE ID and reactivated the authorization for Kobo.  My main issue that ADE failed to read Chinese characters.  eBook I purchased from Kobo supposed to have lines of English & (traditional) Chinese but all turns into blank spaces. It defects the purpose of my getting the book.  It's not Kobo issue as I have no problem ready on Windows from Kobo site.  It's ADE.  And there's no Ch language pack to download even they said they support the language.

Thanks for your reply, although it's not an actual response to my question. If you're using ADE 4.5 or higher with a newish Kobo, DEFINITELY contact Adobe for assistance. If you're using an old Kobo and/or an old version of ADE that is no longer available, you're out of luck. I was told very clearly that "Support is no longer available for you product version. Phone and chat support is not available for free or discontinued software or services."

I had same issue.  Moving to older version (4.0) solved the issue.  I found that editing the 4.5 url gets you the older versions
