Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.3 has stopped working

This program has been working for me up until today. I have windows 8.1.  I downloaded a book from the library. worked ok. Then I tried another one and got an error about licensing. I believe it was from that point on whenever I clicked on my koboeReader adobe would crash. I unauthorized, uninstalled the program. Reinstalled and re-authorized.  But, it looks different. There are no bookshelves. It will let me down load but the books don't show up anywhere and still when I click on Koboereader the program crashes with "Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.3 has stopped working". I am installing to my D drive but this is where it was before and it has always worked fine.  Any ideas?

Try this:
Go to the My Digital Edition Folder under your Documents folder.

Rename the Folder to My Digital Editon.alt.

Then right click on the icon of digital editoin and choose run as admin.
Hope it solved your Problem.
