I'm a reference librarian trying to help a patron with his new Mac mini running Big Sur. He is no longer able to download Overdrive books with Adobe Digital Editions.
Is Adobe working with Big Sur, or have plans to do so? Is there something that this patron can do? I was told in the Adobe chat that an Adobe representative would answer this question. Please respond to me at [Personal information removed by moderator.] thank you.

Every time Apple issues an update it takes other companies time to catch up
SOME Adobe programs are compatible with Apple's BS, but they may have issues

Other communities have access to a developer(!) version of the new operating system to be prepared in time... However, some companies like Fujitsu and Adobe show, that they always fail with such option and still await the final release and also after the final release need months to adopt their software. However, the next MacOS already following up Big Sur has already been announced (and is available as beta again), but Adobe still fails to get all its applications compatible? Adobe Digital Editions is still missing in the lists, but maybe also because they do not focus as such on a solution, where they are in the position of a monopoly.
You may also check roaringapps for compatiblity, however, for Big Sur there is no information.
