I'm building an ePub for a client who requires to view it in ADE on a PC.
However, I've discovered that the search function built into ADE does not work. It keeps coming up with 'No match found' and I've tried a few words. Search functions works flawlessly in iBooks but not in ADE and I've the latest version downloaded!

I check it with my ebooks and get no error. Have you the issue with all eBooks?

iBooks works perfectly. Adobe Digital Editions (recommended ebook reader) does weird things to my ePub:
On a Mac: Error message with opening web links and then you cannot go back to the page. Also strange zooming when using clickable hyperlinks.
On a PC: All above not affecting the ePub, but the search feature does not work. I have entered a few test words, all of which come up with 'No match found'
Bottom line, we have recommended to our client to download and view the ePub on ADE, problem is the latest version has lots of bugs, also the latest indesign updates may play a part in these problems. I have tried numerous of other third party ePub readers but ADE up until last week has been the best to date.
Adobe. We're not happy!!

This still seems to be a problem. With a large pdf I tend to go to Adobe Reader. Occasionally I can get the search to work but it is so unreliable and usually I get nothing.
Pity, because I like the idea of the software. A lot of very simple programs out there can do an efficient search. I wonder why Adobe has not fixed this yet.

We are now in 2022 and it seems it is still impossible to search for any words in an ePub book using Adobe Digital Edition 4.5.11 on Windows. Can someone shed some light?
