can i buy kindle books and use with adobe editions 3.0

Before I spend money on kindle books, I want to know if I can download them to read on my Adobe Digital Editions 3.0.  Tried to find out through kindle with no success.  Thank you for your help.

NO, Kindle books can not be read on Adobe Digital.  This will read PDF and e-pub. 

If you want something to read Kindle books, and you want to have bookmarks, notes and highlight, you need to download the free Kindle for PC from Amazon. 

The Adobe Digital is perfect for PDF and e-pub.  Digital Editions will read books from Sony Reader, Cybook, Bebook, EZ Reader and a couple of others, but not the MOBI format of Kindle.
