Can no longer download books on ePub or Cloudlibrary after installing High Sierra on MacBook Pro

A few days ago I installed High Sierra on my MacBook Pro. Although the installation was "successful," I then found that all of my saved passwords had been deleted. That was a minor inconvenience. But then I found I could no longer download ebooks on the New York Public Library's ePub app or on 3M Cloud library. I tried installing the latest version of CloudLibrary, but then after it downloaded 20% of the book,  I received this error message; E_Auth_Bad_Device_Key_OR_PKCS12_Adobe activation problem. Tried resetting Adobe PW but that didn't work. Spent more than an hour with Apple tech support until they said they couldn't help because it was a 3rd party software problem, i.e. Adobe. Any ideas?
