I'm using my small windows laptop. IADE and download of library book was going well. Could figure out. I uninstalled ADE and re-instsalled. ADE authorization was still resident. Still had same problem. ?? Compared ADE authoriaztion with my main desktop. They were the same. So I reallized my main desktop computer was on. Turned desktop off and now I can open Library book on laptop. Is this correct response? Only one instance of ADE at a time?

I, once more, uninstalled ADE. This time I made sure to restart the laptop computer. ADE came up, but it did not show the library (or bookshelf) where the books are located. When I start it does show, for a few seconds, a blue active circle. This tells me it is looking for something. What? I can see the authorization for books. Most items on under the File tool menu are greyed out. Trying to activate various items sometimes caused ADE to just shut down.
If also tried to 'Open With' a book from explorer. This failed.
Anything else to check?

Well I think I fixed the problem. No...I did not solve it. Something was wrong with the data files that were in the Bookshelf. I Zipped up all files and folders in the Bookshelf. Essentially, it was now empty -- assuming ADE cannot see into a zipped folder. I activated ADE and it came up normally!! It showed an empty Bookshelf - that's what I wanted. So all that was left for me to do was add books. I extracted one book and added to ADE. It all worked. I could see that one book in the Bookshelf and read just fine in ADE. Hooray! I do not know if the problem is in one particular book or in the data in the other folders. So I will only extract one book at a time to place in the ADE folder.

And Oh by the way: YES you can have two machines on at the a same. I was in error there. My problem was caused by something different.
