cant open my downloaded book on my kindle. doesnt even show

my books havent opened in my kindle
they dont even show on my index
the only error i can think of is that
kindle is not supported  by adobe
or i didnt enter an authorisation code and therefore i can only read books on my computer and i want to be able to read books on my kindle .
please help
