I had a very old version of Digital Editions (2.0) installed and authorized with my Adobe ID. I installed the current version (4.5) and had problems loading a new ebook I had just purchased. On advice from the vendor, I deauthorized, reauthorized, and then was able to download the book and view it. I am running Windows 10.
Then I discovered that installing the new version of Digital Editions did not delete the old version. So I uninstalled both versions, rebooted the machine, reinstalled the new one, deauthorized and reauthorized again. Now the app doesn't work at all any more. I don't see any books I had before. I choose "New Bookshelf" and nothing happens. I click on the Reading menu and the app closes with no error message. I try adding the book to the library and the app freezes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, even redownloaded the app from the Adobe website, with no change in the app's behavior. What should I do?
