I have been using Digital Editions for years to read ePub books I borrow from my public library. However, within the last couple of weeks I have suddenly been unable to launch the app on my Macbook Pro (MacOS 13.2.1). When I click the icon, something flashes up on screen for a fraction of a second and then it disappears. The app does not launch.
I have tried removing the app (using an app removal tool) and reinstalling the latest version from Adobe's site, and of course restarting my computer. I get the same result if I open the app itself or if I try to open an .acsm file downloaded from a library website.
After the crash I get "Adobe Digital Editions quite unexpectedly" with a crash report (attached).

Welp it seems I inadvertantly solved it myself.
There was one book that I had downloaded that was giving it issues. When I manually deleted the book from the Digital Editions folder the app opened normally again.

Same problem here on Windows11. I found that epubs downloaded to to MyDigital Editions folder after clicking the acsm file. No ADE library, but in my case no harm. I put all my epubs in Calibre and download from there to my Kobo and Kindle.
