Digital editions has authorized my Mac. Following the help suggestion for transferring ebooks, I connected my Sony PRS-650 and then launched Digital Editions. I do not get a Devices item on the left side to allow it to be authorized or to transfer books

Digital editions has authorized my Mac.  Following the help suggestion for transferring ebooks, I connected my Sony PRS-650 and then launched Digital Editions.  I do not get a Devices item on the left side to allow it to be authorized or to transfer books.  What do I try next?
