Downloading ebooks from library

I have downloaded abobe digital editions and have been trying to download books from the library website.  Each time I hit download, it is downloaded to my computer, but not to digital editions.   When I try to open using digital editions it sends me back to download the digital editions again even though its already on my computer.

Closed Digital Edition.

Rename My Digital Edition Folder under My Documents in My Digital Edition.old.

Start Digital Edition.

Download again.
